Tenerife Food Experience

As a private chef on Tenerife, one of the events I enjoy hosting most is my “Meet & Eat” dinners. These gatherings are all about savoring excellent Tenerife food, meeting new people, and creating memorable dining experiences in a relaxed and intimate setting. On the 1st of November, I was thrilled to host yet another fully-booked Meet & Eat dinner, with guests joining us from as far as Puerto de la Cruz and Vilaflor, making it a truly diverse and lively evening.

The event, limited to just 8 seats, filled quickly, proving once again the demand for unique dining experiences here on Tenerife. Guests attended solo or with friends, and by the end of the night, new connections and shared memories were made.

The Menu

The evening’s menu was designed to highlight fresh, local ingredients and unique flavors that represent Tenerife food. Each course was crafted to offer a blend of flavors that complemented each other perfectly:

Welcome Bites: We started with a selection of homemade bread served alongside three spreads – a fresh lemon thyme butter, a pea dip with radishes and raspberries, and an olive tomato cream. These paired wonderfully with the welcoming ambiance as guests settled in and began mingling.

Appetizer: For the first course, I served seared scallops paired with a mandarin mayonnaise, orange pearls, fennel, and chorizo. This dish had just the right combination of flavors to surprise the palate with sweet, savory, and citrus notes.

  • Main Course: The centerpiece of the evening was a tender filet of beef topped with a creamy porcini hollandaise, served alongside cauliflower purée and sautéed romaine lettuce. This was the ultimate comfort dish and brought out the rich, earthy flavors that Tenerife cuisine is so well-known for.
  • Dessert: To end on a high note, dessert was a pumpkin seed ice cream served with a flaky peach pastry. This unique twist on autumn flavors was a hit with guests, leaving everyone with a sweet memory of the evening.

The success of the evening was not only in the food but also in the connections that were made over the course of the night. Guests left with new friendships and a greater appreciation for Tenerife food, and for me, it was incredibly rewarding to bring people together in such a special way.
